At Cococino we believe you should be able to enjoy the convenience of making a quick great tasting coffee while knowing that your coffee pods and capsules are not polluting and damaging the environment.
Many of the standard coffee capsules and pods are made from un-recyclable plastics or aluminium that end up in landfills. The unsustainability of these coffee pods can deter potential customers. More importantly, being able to offer a biodegradable coffee pod option offers a unique selling proposition for local coffee roasters.
The Cococino Biodegradable & Compostable pods/capsules are made from a patented plant-based composite. The secret lies in the type of material used in our plant-based capsules. We make them entirely from sugarcane and sugar beet (awesome, hey !?). This means that the complete capsule is made from plant materials.
Under the right conditions our coffee capsules will fully break-down into compost after 10 weeks. This means that our entire capsule can be chewed up, and spat out by our little microbial friends, leaving behind biomass, CO2 and water.
Cococino biodegradable coffee pods are hermetically sealed. This is achieved by a built-in plant-based oxygen barrier. This keeps the coffee we pack in them fresh and delicious.
It is part of our ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) efforts and global movement to become more sustainable.
Our coffee pods are Nespresso machine compatible so you can use any Nespresso coffee machine to enjoy any of our three great tasting and aromatic Cococino coffees. All organic and 100% arabica !
